NEW YORK (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – Famed playwright Brooke Berman sure knows how to make a move – she’s lived in 39 apartments over the past 20 years.

Berman, who’s penned No Place Like Home: A Memoir In 39 Apartments (Harmony), has moved from place to place all over New York.

The longest she’s ever stayed in one apartment was three years, and the shortest was only a month.

Despite constantly being on the move to pursue playwriting, Berman says drifting isn’t all that weird.

She explains, “Theater people have always been gypsies. Scrambling around is part of the lifestyle.”

However, in the course of 39 apartments, Berman admits she has had some pretty strange roommates, including an Austrian dancer who had a secret subscription to Playboy.

But with every new temporary pad and weird roommate, Berman managed to settle in and ALWAYS unpack her boxes.

To this day, she even completely unpacks in hotel rooms.

Berman’s next move is July 1, when she takes up residence in Los Angeles with her fiance.
