Thats because 10 of Americas top marching bands are meeting up to compete in the Honda Battle of the Bands to see which one can drum up the most support.
Battle Of The Bands spokesman Craig Cason says the competition is only in its third year but its already the marching band equivalent of the Super Bowl, attracting musicians from all over the U.S. who want to see the latest trends in march music, drumlines and field choreography.
Cason says different bands have different strengths.
For instance, Tuskegee University is known for its rich brass section while Langston University has such a top notch drum corps that some members even claim they invented the drumlines seen in the 2002 movie of the same name.
Marching band music isnt exactly topping the charts but Cason thinks that will change, especially since there are lots of hip-hop artists who are starting to sample drumlines for their songs.
