Chef Marco Pierre White: ‘I’m Not A Performing Seal’

NEW YORK (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – Outspoken chef Marco Pierre White refuses to put on a show for TV cameras.

The controversial British chef, who trained Gordon Ramsay and Mario Batali, is starring in his own cooking competition, The Chopping Block, premiering March 11 on NBC.

White will oversee teams of chefs trying to successfully run high-speed restaurants in Manhattan, but don’t expect him to fly off the handle a la Gordon Ramsay in Hell’s Kitchen.

He assures, “I’m not a performing seal. My show will NOT be a circus. I want to put reality back into reality TV.”

Unlike British bad boy Ramsay, White doesn’t tolerate screaming and cursing in his kitchen.

He explains, “Bad language and unnecessarily raising your voice shows a lack of respect. A chef must be respectful.”

He says the most important part of a restaurant is it’s environment and adds, “We’re in the business of selling a night out. Food is only one element.”
