Carrot Top’s Props Sometimes Flop

LOS ANGELES (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – The mastermind behind Carrot Top’s visual aids says that sometimes even the best props can flop.

Charlie Viracola is a stand-up comedian who designs the wacky props Carrot Top uses on stage along with his jokes.

Most of Viracola’s props, like the “Bill Clinton briefcase” that rolled out into an instant sleeping bag, have been hits with audiences, but sometimes, his quirky aids miss the mark.

He once designed a “pogo-broom” which was a mop on one end and a working pogo stick on the other for a joke about how to get out of your kitchen once you’ve mopped.

Viracola and Carrot Top thought the trinket was hilarious, but the crowd didn’t crack a smile.

Despite the flops, most props go off with a bang.

His favorite kooky creation is the “Swiss Army Dildo,” a giant Swiss Army Knife with attachments that could be used as vibrators, including actual sex toys, a toothpick, and a corkscrew.

Viracola says the prop was used twice by Carrot Top and got huge laughs, but the Ginger-haired comic decided it was too risque so it’s now in storage.
