OJAI, Calif. (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) A former professional wrestler has traded in his tights for a priests collar and hes 76 years old.
Former pro wrestler Bill Olivas has become the oldest man to be ordained a Roman Catholic priest in the United States this year.
Father Olivas started his wrestling career in the late 40s and wrestled internationally for two decades under stage names including the Elephant Boy, Zando Zabo, and The Wild Man of Borneo.
Although hes enjoyed being a wrestling star, he says TV killed the sport because the folks watching at home demanded more and more action which is when the fakery began.
These days, Father Olivas takes confession and performs baptisms and weddings at the St. Thomas Aquinas Church in Ojai, California.
But the wrestling bug hasnt left him completely: Father Olivas says hes thinking about starting a wrestling club for the kids at the church.
