OJAI, Calif. (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – A former professional wrestler has traded in his tights for a priest’s collar – and he’s 76 years old.

Former pro wrestler Bill Olivas has become the oldest man to be ordained a Roman Catholic priest in the United States this year.

Father Olivas started his wrestling career in the late ’40s and wrestled internationally for two decades under stage names including the Elephant Boy, Zando Zabo, and The Wild Man of Borneo.

Although he’s enjoyed being a wrestling star, he says TV killed the sport because the folks watching at home demanded more and more action – which is when the fakery began.

These days, Father Olivas takes confession and performs baptisms and weddings at the St. Thomas Aquinas Church in Ojai, California.

But the wrestling bug hasn’t left him completely: Father Olivas says he’s thinking about starting a wrestling club for the kids at the church.
