BETHESDA, Md. (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – America’s favorite toys have some pretty strange stories behind them.

For example, during the Vietnam War, soldiers actually used Slinkies as radio antennas by stretching the coiled-up toys between two trees.

But the Vietnam War wasn’t so good to G.I. Joe. It seems the anti-war sentiment was so high in 1967 that sales of the military hunk dropped 50 percent.

And did you know that Play-Doh was invented to be used as wallpaper cleaner? – or that Lincoln Logs building blocks were designed by the son of architect Frank Lloyd Wright?

You can find out more about the bizarre backgrounds of toys tomorrow night (Nov. 19) when a Discovery Channel documentary called Our Favorite Toys premieres.
