HADDONFIELD, N.J. (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) Husband-and-wife debates over which video to rent for the evening are triggering cases of domestic violence in public.
One video store owner in Los Angeles says he sees at least one knock-down, drag-out fight between couples every day including one man who pulled off his wifes wig.
The video rental squabbling has become such a problem, that a new internet site is offering husbands and wives the chance to review video rentals at home before they visit the video store.
A spokesman for Videodetective.com claims the site is actually reducing fights because couples can review available videos in the privacy of their homes and discuss the selection calmly.
But not everyone thinks theres a correlation between arguing over videos and domestic abuse.
Dr. Elizabeth Carll, a domestic violence expert in Centerport, New York, says most domestic violence is built up over time and isnt caused by something trivial such as bickering over which movie to watch.
