FUKUI, Japan (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) A Japanese inventor has created a washing machine that runs on human waste.
The manure-powered washing machine utilizes a high-tech composting machine that traps methane gas from bathroom wastes and then uses it to power a electrical generator.
Inventor Nishi Ishizaki says 20 pounds of human manure is enough to run the machine through five loads of laundry. Cat and dog droppings can also be used.
Ishizaki admits the biggest problem with his loo laundry
system is the odor generated by the composting device, but once
its solved the manure-powered washing machine could become
popular with campers and rural residents.
