1ST-EVER KOOL-AID FESTIVAL TO BE HELD IN INVENTOR’S HOMETOWN

HASTINGS, Neb. (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – The birthplace of Kool-Aid is hoping to become a tourist hot spot by holding the world’s first Kool-Aid festival.

On August 15th, Hastings, Nebraska, – the town where Kool-Aid inventor Edwin Perkins first concocted the drink in 1927 – will hold its first-ever Annual Kool-Aid Days.

The organizers had planned on holding a Kool-Aid chugging contest, a Kool-Aid dunk tank and a Kool-Aid cooking contest – but Kool-Aid’s parent company, Kraft, pulled the plug on those events.

A Kraft spokesperson says the company doesn’t approve of using Kool-Aid for any purpose other than calmly drinking it.

The event will now consist of a Kool-Aid stand decorating contest, a Kool-Aid jingle contest and a costume parade.
