SOVIET MAIL ORDER OUTFIT FEATURES OLD MIR COSMONAUT SUIT

SAN DIEGO (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – The broken-down Russian MIR space station may be on its last legs, but there’s no shortage of spacey souvenirs thanks to a Cold War mail order outfit called “The Sovietski Collection.”

The company is selling a genuine cosmonaut space suit for a “MIR” $14,500. The flight suit is made out of white nylon and canvas and features a rubberized cloth lining, a pressurized hood and a leather helmet with built-in microphone headset.

The suit belonged to a cosmonaut named Alexander Alexandrov who joined the Soviet space program in 1965.

The Sovietski company is also negotiating to purchase a toddler-sized space suit, which, although never used, was part of a failed Soviet attempt to send a family of four into space.
