LOS ANGELES (Wireless Flash) It turns out the best part about making M.A.S.H. wasnt winning the Emmys it was the food fights.
Thats according to actor Jeff Maxwell, who played the part of Private Igor the mess cook.
Maxwell says the entire M.A.S.H. cast used to engage in giant food fights in between scenes, throwing bacon, eggs and potatoes at each other.
Each M.A.S.H. member had a favorite throwing food, and Maxwell says bacon was his weapon of choice because, It curled very nicely around someones nose.
On the other hand, Larry Linville who played Frank Burns was the M.A.S.H. food fight M.V.P. because he could throw baked potatoes with deadly accuracy.
Maxwell is the author of a new cookbook called Secrets Of The M.A.S.H. Mess: The Lost Recipes Of Private Igor (Cumberland Publishing) which includes a wonderful recipe for Creamed Weenies.
