LOS ANGELES (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – Here’s proof that Titanic has made boats big again in Hollywood: The Love Boat is making a comeback.

Later this Spring, the UPN network will set sail on a 1998 version of The Love Boat, which aired for nine years on ABC from 1977 to 1986.

Although the show’s producers want to make sure the new version has all the entertainment value of the old version, there will be some differences.

In the old Love Boat, Captain Merrill Stubing lived on the ship with his teenage daughter, Vicki. On the new Love Boat, Captain Stubing becomes Captain Jim Kennedy III and he lives on the ship with his teenage son, Danny.

So far, none of the major roles have been cast.
