SAN FRANCISCO (Wireless Flash) – Hope you like the name “Sarah” because you’ll be meeting lots of women with that name in the coming years.
According to the BabyCenter publishing company, “Sarah” is the new No. 1 name for baby girls. “Emily” is the second most popular name for girls, followed by “Kaitlyn,” “Brianna,” and “Ashley.”
The top boys’ name is still “Michael” which has been a consistent favorite since the ’70s. “Matthew” is the No. 2 name for boys followed by “Nicolas,” “Jacob,” and “Christopher.”
The newest baby names to make this year’s list are “Hannah” and “Samantha,” for girls and “Andrew” and “Brandon” for boys.
