FOURTH OF JULY AMERICAN FLAGS MAY NOT BE AMERICAN AT ALL

WASHINGTON, D.C. (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – Here’s a not-so glorious fact about Old Glory – most American flags aren’t even made in America.

According to U.S. Census Bureau statistics, most American flags are actually made in Taiwan and China.

Those two countries alone sell nearly 2 million American flags to America consumers each year.

However, the United States is trying to make up for the deficit – last year the U.S. exported five flags to Finland and two to Ireland.

But that may change soon.

The Industrial Fabrics Association and other flag industry groups are pursuing legislation that will make it illegal for American flags sold in America to be made anywhere but in the United States.
