PHILADELPHIA (Wireless Flash) Authorities claim fashion designer Gianni Versace was murdered by gay hustler Andrew Cunanan, but an upcoming book claims it may have been the Mafia.
According to Gianni Versace: Fashions Last Emperor (Trans-Atlantic Publishing), some onlookers say they saw a dead sparrow next to Versaces corpse which is a Mafia trademark.
Others believe the Mob may have wanted Versace bumped off because he refused to go into business with them.
A private detective named Frank Monte also claims the Mafia used Cunanan as a patsy by killing him before Versace was hit and then storing his body in a freezer until he could be framed with Versaces murder.
Gianni Versace: Fashions Last Emperor will hit stores on March 23.
