LOS ANGELES (Wireless Flash) – 14-year-old actor Taran Smith, who plays Mark on Home Improvement, says he’s been receiving hate mail from viewers who don’t like his character’s new, punk look.
He says ever since his character started dressing in black and spiking his hair, he’s been receiving angry letters from viewers who don’t like the punk look – including a few letters that demand he quit the show.
Taran says he’s suffered through worse in the past, including rumors that he’s gay and the circulation of phony nude pictures on the internet of him and co-stars Jonathan Taylor Thomas and Zachery Ty Bryan – all of whom are under 18.
After tonight’s (May 12) airing of Home Improvement, the mail could really start pouring in: The episode revolves around Mark after he decides to shave his head bald.
