MORGAN HILL, Calif. (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) -- A new girlie magazine geared toward Hispanic males has found a titillating way to get exposure -- by auctioning off the chance to be its first centerfold to the highest bidder.
Starting today (Nov. 10), "Bonita" magazine is allowing aspiring and probably wealthy female models to place bids on eBay for the right to be its first centerfold when the mag debuts in January.
The minimum bid is $10,000 and "Bonita" publisher Robert Garcia says the woman with the highest offer gets the honor, regardless of age, shape, height or any other criteria used by other men's magazines like "Playboy, Maxim" or "Stuff."
Although the auction process theoretically could lead to a winning woman who looks more like Camryn Manheim than Carmen Electra, Garcia isn't worried because the photo shoots won't feature nudity.
Plus, he says, "All women are beautiful in the eyes of their holder."
The centerfold auction ends Nov. 30, but Garcia won't say if the "pay-for-play" process will become a normal part of the mag.
