CALABASAS, Calif. (Wireless Flash) Hows this for ambition: hes only 13, but Canadian actor Michael Caloz has already written three screenplays.
Caloz, who recently played a young boy befriended by Dennis Rodman in the TV biopic As Bad As I Wanna Be, is also a budding director who wrote, directed, filmed and produced a 20 minute educational film called Homophobia: Another Word For Ignorance.
If thats not enough, the 13 year old is also a horror make-up maven who loves to create gory wounds and other special effects.
The budding Orson Welles says he learned most of his film-making skills from eight years of acting and hanging around film sets, but he admits hes read a few screenwriting books to sharpen up his writing skills.
Caloz wants to produce his own screenplays which include a Star Wars-like fantasy, an FBI action flick and a comedy when hes old enough to direct them at a big Hollywood studio.
In the meantime, he says hell keep auditioning for roles and working at his regular gig as one of the voices on the PBS animated kids show Arthur.
